Ways to Give
At Ankeny United Church, we recognize that we can give a variety of gifts as we show our devotion and gratitude toward God. From financial offerings to donations of our time, talents and spirit, there are many ways that you can give your gifts to our church!
Give in Person
When you worship with us in person on Sunday mornings, toward the end of the service there is a time when we collect offerings by passing our offering plate. The money donated in the offering plates goes to fund our annual budget and operating expenses, as well as special ministries and special offerings.
While the offering plates are being passed, our children also go around collecting offering for one of our special ministries in their “coin collection” buckets. The money from these buckets goes to support the special ministries that rotate throughout the course of the year. These ministries include the Ankeny Ministerial Association Traveler’s Fund, Heifer Project International, OneIowa, Joppa, Global Ministries, DMARC, and the Native American Heritage Fund.
We also recognize that many people prefer to donate electronically, so if you are someone who gives online and still attends worship in person, each pew has an “electronic giving” card, which you are invited to put in the offering plate as it is being passed. This is a way to dedicate your online contributions and so everyone can put something in the offering plate, regardless of how and what they give.
If you want to donate something other than financial gifts, you are encouraged to show your dedication in other ways as well. You can always dedicate your time, energy, and commitment to bring more life and light into our world. We also have a food pantry shelf outside of our sanctuary, where you can donate non-perishable food times that are donated to the DMARC food pantry and go to help those in our community who are in need.
Give Online
As many of us like to contribute online, we also accept online donations to our church. You can make a one-time donation, or set up a recurring payment every week or every month so you never have to worry about forgetting your offering.
