In the season of Thanksgiving, we remember the prophetic words of Isaiah to King Hezekiah in Jerusalem in the face of the unbeatable destructive might of the Assyrian army, "be not afraid". When Assyria laid siege to Jerusalem, their army turned back. Whether it was because Jerusalem paid them off, or because something happened in the camp, there was no battle. No matter the method, the people in Jerusalem and in the armies were spared. In this world, let us give thanks when violent conflict can be stopped.
