Solomon's exploitation of labor and subjects split the kingdom. Pope Leo X's exploitation of distant Catholics split the church. But as we Protestants stripped down sanctuaries in a move toward simplicity for the Word, we missed some of the stories sculpture and stained glass told. Today, we have the opportunity to find new ways to listen to God's still-speaking voice, just as Nathan, Luther, and Calvin did so long ago.
