The Ten Commandments (as we call them) appear for the second time in Deuteronomy, as the Israelites prepare to enter the promised land. Here, they serve as a foundation for the sort of nation that should be built in the new land: one based in love of God and love of neighbor. In our churches today, we get to make choices about our futures, too. How will we grow in love of God and love of neighbor?
