As we embark on the Narrative Lectionary, we ask questions about the beginning of our story relating to God and one another. And so, before patriarchy, before marriage, before childbirth, we look at what God saw looking at a solitary human: the need for companionship. And we start to understand why there has been such a change in how we define marriage in these past few years.
