One striking part of Jesus's ministry was the way he refused to show the fullness of who he was before the time was ripe. Perhaps he did not want people to compare him to the picture they had in their heads of what a savior looked like. Too often we imagine we know what a leader, an engineer, a soldier, a patriot, a terrorist looks like, and so miss the reality that unfolds before us.
