As we move on into the expansion of the kingdom of Israel under King David, we read about the celebration that accompanies the arrival in Jerusalem of the ark, and God's Presence. In our month-long food drive, we take particular note of the amount of food that David sacrifices and distributes to the awaiting crowd. Joy at God's presence causes us to share our bounty with others, and the hope of God's presence is that all may be fed.
