The lesson of the wedding at Cana is that God sees abundance where we try to see scarcity. This applies equally to the fear at the heart of racism and in the overflowing wine at a wedding feast.

Note: At one point, Pastor Nathan threatens a lecture on the difference between capitalism and monetarism. He, of course, meant a discussion about capitalism, monetarism, and mercantilism (and, really, keynesianism), as hinted at in his brief discussion of the utility of gold.
