Serving (Pork) Beyond

We grossed over $1890 on this year’s Hog Roast, despite the apocalyptic weather. That’s food in bellies and medicine in bodies. Blessings to all who cared enough to eat and serve.

September 9, 2016 (Iowa-ISU eve), we are proud to host the 3rd annual Dig the Pig fundraising tailgate, once again benefitting Doctors Without Borders and the BackPack Program. Join us for delicious, gourmet, pastured pork, a variety of barbecue sauces, salads, chips, and PIE. 4-7pm September 9, 601 SE Delaware Avenue.

Takeout available, tickets ($10 adult, $5 child (4-12), $30 family) available in advance here:

or at the door.

The Ankeny BackPack Program, administered by the Iowa Food Bank, works with Ankeny Community Schools to provide supplemental food on the weekends for families who need it.

Doctors Without Borders goes to places other health care professionals fear to tread to give lifesaving medical and technical assistance to people who would otherwise be denied access to basics such as healthcare, clean water, and shelter. Annually, around 3,000 international volunteers join local staff helping populations in danger.
